You’re in good hands indeed!

We set the benchmark in education for the Australian Pilates industry through Pilates International Training Centre (PilatesITC).

We are able to select the most gifted graduates from our training programs. Diploma students are required to complete a minimum of 300 hours work experience (100hrs observation, 200hrs assistant teaching) to graduate. It takes over 600 hours of intensive learning to complete the Diploma, and provides a comprehensive education in all aspects of teaching the Pilates Method. Students are mentored, guided and supervised throughout their training and PilatesInt Studios have the benefit of being able to hand pick the best staff on graduation.

It is important to us that our teachers are dedicated to increasing their skills and knowledge through ongoing education and all our teachers are required to be members of the Pilates industry peak body and to maintain their ongoing education and professional development.

Our senior practitioners have been teaching for more than seven years and our Principal practitioners for between than 15 to 26 years. All our teachers are extremely passionate about their work as Pilates professionals.

To understand our instructors on a personal level and what drives them to be the best at what they do, please select your nearest studio, and read their individual profiles.

Did you know…

Some industry “instructors” learnt Pilates from a five-day course.

With increased demand for Pilates instruction, there has been little control over the influx of training programs that offer ‘certification’. This has resulted in poorly trained teachers working in studios and gyms. Pilates International only employ staff who are formally, comprehensively trained and hold a minimum Diploma qualification.

Important observation:

Our instructor courses through PilatesITC are not only government recognised qualifications but they also require students to complete the greatest number of work experience hours, on top of lectures and assessment, in comparison with other courses. It’s important that you know your instructor and are confident that your body is in safe hands.

Alisha Porter

After spending time traveling and relocating to Sydney, Alisha sought out the Pilates International studios after a recommendation from a childhood dance teacher, as a way to recondition her body and postpone the need for further surgery. Alisha developed a consistent practice, her pain levels reduced and she was hooked. A vision and goal setting conversation as part of her employment with Lululemon Athletica inspired Alisha to dream big and enroll in the Diploma with PilatesITC. Alisha’s Big Scary 10 Year Goal is to be part of an Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation Team with dancers and athletes. When not at the Broadway studio, Alisha and her husband can be found indulging in their creative side by attending theatre performances, getting out of the city for a camping trip, and pulling silly faces with their 6 nieces & nephews.
