Considering Pilates

What you need to know

What is Pilates & how do I benefit?

The Pilates method focuses on both body and mind to create core stability, postural alignment and mental wellbeing. Initial results are better posture and the strengthening of core muscle groups – the abdominals and mid-torso. With regular professional Pilates instruction, your body can reach its optimum physique. Did you know?

Not all Pilates studios are the same

Can’t tell the difference between one Pilates studio & the next? With so many choices of studios and classes, it can be frustrating trying to choose the right one for you. Don’t be afraid to ask the important questions, a reputable studio will be happy to help.

Not all Pilates exercises are appropriate for every body

Inadequate instructor training can result in clients doing exercises that are not suitable for their body, leading to neck or back injury. This is the reason you should be wary of large group classes, where you do not receive individual instruction. When supervised by a qualified instructor, Pilates is a safe form of exercise that has rapid results and is appropriate for any person, regardless of body shape, age, fitness level or existing injury.

THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR A HIGHLY QUALIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR USING BEST PRACTICE & SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED EQUIPMENT.

Are your instructors professionally qualified?

Comprehensive training includes theoretical lectures, written and practical examination, and a minimum of 300 hours instructor experience (100hrs observation, 200hrs assistant teaching).

How long have your instructor’s been teaching Pilates?

Our studios only employ highly qualified professionals and the most talented individuals who have graduated from our government recognised diploma programs.

What’s the ratio of clients to instructors?

There should be a maximum of four clients to each instructor. This is the maximum for classes in our studios, however it is often less than four clients to each instructor.

Is my instruction personalised?

Your sessions should target areas that are specific to your individual needs. On initial consultation, our talented instructors create a program to suit your body, not someone else’s.

Is the studio fully equipped?

Minimal apparatus should include a Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel and Ped-O-Pull. Our state-of-the-art equipment is meticulously maintained.
